It's like you know us, Ben, while we are "hiding behind a carefully constructed mask" just hoping to be "enough."

Dear Ben,I am grateful to you for baptizing me at St. George’s Cavalry, and for this piece. It brought tears to my eyes, not only for the message as a whole, which is very apropos, but because of the final words radical grace. I have been in love this year, with considerable difficulty. But rather than be self-protective, I took the spiritual way, which requires not only continuous surrender, but also being forced to give up the attachment … and by grace itself, I became free and able to love without attachment. We may think we are “fighting for love,” but what you said is what comes next … coming to it with “empty hands.” What you beautifully wrote is a mirror of our heartbreak and love: “God doesn't just tolerate our neediness—he transforms it into the very doorway of grace. Every time we accept his welcome with empty hands, we taste the feast that never ends, the belonging that never breaks … permanent as love itself.”

Dear Richard, it has been too long! Thank you for your very kind note. I’m glad to hear you’re happy even though it’s scary. Blessings to you and your love, and I hope we run into each other again soon!
